Just to let you know that I have received my phone amd sim card and can’t thank you all enough for your kindness. This really has put me weeks ahead of getting my own place and getting back to work. But most importantly maintaining my relationship with my children, and now grandchild. Thank you so much and if there’s anything I could possibly do please feel free to contact me.
Anthony, London
My customer a 24 year old, who is estranged from his family and living in temporary accommodation received a SIMpal phone and SIM card.
Prior to this he had wanted to engage in various activities with the homeless charity he visited most days and activities for work experience I as his Careers Advisor had tried to set up. However his phone was stolen and he found the costs of a contract high after living on Universal Credit for a few months. He often did not attend and did not let those organising the activity know and felt very bad at ‘letting people down’. He also could not receive calls about opportunities and only way to contact him was for him to visit lcal library and log into email there.
Once he received the phone it was much easier both for him to access opportunities and for various Support Workers to support him. He felt so much positive and literally connected, that he had the confidence to apply for his dream opportunity, joining the RAF. He was able to use the phone to arrange appointments with the RAF recruiter, practice for the Defence Aptitude Test and speak to Support Worker when he needed encouragement and information.
He passed the Defence Aptitude Test with 74% and is now waiting for a medical and fitness test. Passing these will mean he can start his career and live in secure accommodation, training for a trade and most important for him, live and work with others and so feel that he belongs

I just wanted to send a quick email to say thank you so much for your help with the phone and the sim. It is appreciated, more than words can fully express. The lady was overjoyed and has talked on visits since, of the difference that it makes knowing that she can contact the outside world when she needs to and in fact was able to contact me in quite an urgent situation last week. So thank you!

Just wanted to update you on how my client has been using her phone. She has been using her new phone and sim to connect to services. Also attended a number of physical and phone appointments which is helping her with engagement as well staying on top her finances. She can finally get her life in balance. It’s only been a month and everything has been positive so far. Again, thank you.

SimPal has provided the team I work for, with a much-needed resource especially in terms of digital poverty for those working with vulnerable people. I work with mental health, and the provision of a phone or computer, helps to improve a person’s life in terms of their mental health and the isolation they feel. The SimPal charity is plugging a hole in society for those unable to access any form of communication.
SimPal are generous and responsive to professionals request for phones or computers and to what is offered to the kind of clients I work with in terms of a phone card and sim card. The computers or phones are always sent on time. Thank you SimPal!

That phone and laptop you helped me with last year have literally changed my life. I am about to start a new AI/Software business after getting long term deals with some clients in London. It could be absolutely huge, I am travelling around Europe and the USA working from July to September as part of the roll out.
Your kindness and willingness to talk when I was at a low point have literally changed my life. I cannot thank you enough, however I would love to help with some fundraising etc and if my business does as well as I hope, I’m more than happy to use you guys as our charity partner ie the charity we invest in. You know what you do helps so many people get their lives back on track
Paul, Liverpool
It was really good to speak to you at the end of last week.
I cannot thank you enough for all your support in getting a phone to my single parent that I am helping at school. She was so pleased and relieved that she was able to get a working phone. As we know nowadays our lives are conducted through a phone and it is not until we don’t have one we realise how much one is needed.
She will be able to keep in contact with her daughter now when she goes to stay at her Dad’s.
Parent Support Advisor, Norfolk
I am sending a heartfelt thank you for the incredible gift of the phone. I was truly overwhelmed by your generosity and kindness.
I absolutely love it, and it will be so helpful for staying connected with everyone, and you, especially those who are supporting me during this challenging period of my life and it means the world to me.
Ernestina, Berkshire
I just wanted to reach out to say thank you again — I was fortunate enough to be blessed with a laptop from SimPal, and it’s genuinely helped me in building the Peeky Noodles Project and moving things forward.
Because of that support, I’ve been able to take real steps in creating something that helps people facing challenges around mental health, addiction, and social circumstances.
Dwayne, London
That’s absolutely amazing Chris! You have taken a lot of strain & stress off our shoulders in so many ways. Also helped Gerrard to make his days a lot more manageable & easy thank you once again
Benita, Liverpool
Just to let you know I have gratefully received the phone and Sim. I have been to O2 and received the PAC No, then Vodafone shop, and now up and running. Thanks to you and the Charity I can keep up to progress going forward. I start a computer course next Monday so will gain knowledge and experience to navigate going forward as well. Thank you and your team for the Care and support I have received,
Brian, Chelmsford
Thanks to you and your team’s help and support (don’t know where I would be without it) I will be able to progress going forward. Thankfully going to Citizens Advice on another matter. They gave me your booklet and I would not have known about your fantastic organisation. I will keep you updated going forward, once again thank you and your team it’s no exaggeration to say the least it’s a life line,
Brian, Chelmsford
Working for the NHS, I regularly come across vulnerable people who are in desperate need of connection and ways to keep those connections strong, so they can live better lives. Sim Pal has always been fast and efficient with enquiries, and consistently handles each case with such warmth and humanity that the whole process becomes a pleasure rather than a struggle, which, sadly, is not always the experience in the charity sector. If more organisations operated this way, life for so many vulnerable people would be so much less stressful.
Trevor, Secondary Mental Health Care, NHS.
I’d like to confirm that the device and the SIM have both arrived since yesterday.
And I’ve already started using it, and even looking to purchase a protective case for it.
The phone is a Samsung, perfect size and very easy to use. And even though looks refurbished and not brand new, but beggars can’t be choosers. I still very much appreciate it. The SIM activation codes are also easy to top up.
Thank you so very much Chris.
You have indeed ended my digital poverty.
Mohamed, London
A client who recently received a donated laptop from you has successfully completed the Peer Mentor programme. He has kindly given consent for me to share his Programme End notes with you to highlight the positive impact the laptop has had on his recovery.
His community project, is also developing very well, and he has expressed an interest in connecting with your organisation.
DWP Peer Mentor, London
Just emailing to let you the mobile and sim were delivered to us yesterday, our client has come to collect it this morning. I wanted to pass on some feedback from them – they have said they are taken aback that they would not only have a phone but also the 12 months of minutes, texts and data. They were so pleased and thankful, and felt so relieved that they would be able to contact people now.
Thanks so much for your help, it’s an amazing thing you are doing! We are spreading the word, it will be such valuable support to so many people.
Citizens Advice, Swale
I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you for providing a free reconditioned mobile phone and data SIM to a young person I am currently supporting.
The impact has been genuinely transformative. Before receiving the phone, he faced significant barriers to communication – missing important calls, struggling to complete online forms, and finding it difficult to stay in touch with me potential employers. Having reliable access to a phone and mobile data has changed that completely.
He is now actively applying for jobs, responding promptly to interview invitations, and accessing online resources to strengthen his CV and job search skills. Just as importantly, the phone has given him a renewed sense of independence and confidence. Being connected has reduced his isolation and allowed him to engage more fully with opportunities that many of us take for granted.
Your service does far more than provide a device – it restores access, dignity, and opportunity. For young people facing disadvantage, that connection can be the turning point between feeling stuck and moving forward.
Thank you again for the vital work you do. I would not hesitate to recommend your service to other professionals supporting young people who need this kind of practical, life-changing support.
Employment Advisor, Horsham
I just wanted to say thank you to the team at SimPal. The process was really simple and quick, which is always a win when you are supporting clients. The service was fantastic and friendly as well. This phone will make such a difference to my client.
Chloe, DePaul Charity N.Ireland
Just to let you know, my brother Richard received the phone today, and he’s delighted with it. Thank you so much for your help. It’s really hard in situations like this in today’s world, and though I help out as much as I can, being retired myself, funds are limited. He’s asked me to send on his thanks to you.
Deborah, Lightwater
Hey Chris, my name is Terri I’m the South London Millwall fan that you spoke to today. I’ve been on your Internet site and my daughter helped me to see your stuff on Instagram. What an absolute legend you really are, what you have been through and to then go on and do so many amazing things for people. I just wanted you to know I think you’re absolutely amazing. Honestly, a true gentleman, and you have changed my life completely, and for that I cannot tell you how greatful I am. I truly believe you’re an angel
Terri, South London
Firstly, you’re always cheerful on the phone and just speak normally to people no airs or graces which is hard to come by these days.
But more importantly you are providing a service that is hard to find as most will only deal with the partners they work with or a certain group of people, making it difficult for those that can’t afford a laptop, phone or SIM to stay in touch with the ever-growing digital world.
I work with Asylum seekers and those under the Home For Ukraine Scheme, so they are either on low income or have no access to public funds. The laptops you have provided me for my clients have allowed one of them to gain employment meaning he has gained his independence back, and another to continue his studies outside of the classroom which has helped with his mental health.
Thank you to you and your team for all the hard work you do it is very much appreciated.
Refugee and Asylum Seeker Service, Hounslow
‘Thank you so much, so grateful for this. My first call? To my Mum, so she stops worrying’
‘You’ve been a god send, now I can keep in touch with my friends’
”Who is this legend Chris?!! Please tell him how grateful I am, this is just amazing’
‘Thank you thank you thank you! I can call the housing people, do my UC journal, keep in touch with my job coach’
‘I’m 28 weeks pregnant and not been to any appointments as I haven’t had a phone, now I can start my classes and get my health checks’
‘I haven’t had a phone for 6 months, my mental health has suffered, now I can call someone when I feel lo w’
Various feedback from Norfolk Council
I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the invaluable support you continue to provide to vulnerable individuals, particularly those experiencing mental health challenges.
In December of last year, one of my service users was able to celebrate Christmas in a truly meaningful way after receiving a mobile phone with an active SIM card. This enabled him to connect with the people he wished to spend the holidays with, and the joy it brought him was immeasurable. The ability to communicate and feel connected had a profoundly positive impact on his mental well‑being.
Your dedication and commitment to enhancing the lives of vulnerable people in our society are deeply commendable. The support your organisation provides is not only practical but truly life‑changing. I hope you continue to make such impactful contributions, as they are both worthwhile and truly appreciated.
Many thanks for all that you do.
Social worker, Salford
I would like to sincerely thank you for providing me with the SIM internet package and the mobile phone. I have received them today, and I truly appreciate your kind support and prompt assistance.
Thank you once again for your generosity and cooperation. It really means a lot to me.

The laptop you provided has mad a huge difference to my client. They were able to move on in leaps and bounds being able to learn better English and book doctor appointments to name 2 things. I Have been able to close them as a positive and a lot was down to them becoming digitally included. Many thanks to you and your organisation.

We just want to express our appreciation for the lifeline you have given to some of our most vulnerable clients. It is very difficult these days to navigate the benefit system and even apply for jobs without internet access, so your practical support makes all the difference.

I’ve found SimPal to be a vital resource in my work as a Community Links Practitioner. Having no phone makes accessing essential services and support incredibly difficult. Making a GP appointment becomes a challenge. Finding your way around a new city as a refugee becomes insurmountable. SimPal gives people this lifeline to care and support during what is already a difficult time and I know the people I have supported are incredibly grateful to the service.
Community Links Practitioner, Glasgow
I just want to say a huge thank you for funding a phone for a young person I support. It’s already made a real difference, helping them stay connected, feel safer, and be more independent. I am so grateful for your support. Thank you for making such a positive impact.
Zoë Johnstone, Children’s Services Worker Highland Council
Following our conversation I would like to give some feedback on your service. The client you supplied the phone and sim card to was a refugee with no means of communication and no resources to income to purchase a phone. He was absolutely over the moon with his new phone, and couldn’t give enough thanks for all the support he received. He was then able to make and keep appointments, also make calls to his family. He sends his gratitude to you all with a big thank you.
Please keep up the good work for digitally excluded people.
Pilton Community Health Project, Edinburgh
I just wanted to say a huge thank you for providing David with the laptop. He was absolutely over the moon when he received it.
The laptop has already made a significant difference for him. David can now complete his maths homework, which he had been struggling to keep up with previously as he could not access it on his phone. He is also really pleased that he can now access coding programmes, which will allow him to build on his skills and enjoy his hobby further.
I wanted to share David’s feedback with you directly, as he was very keen for you to know how grateful he is:
“I am very grateful for this gift. I will use it to do my homework and anything school related. I was unable to complete my maths homework before having this laptop, so it will be a great help. I will also use it for my coding hobby and promise to keep it safe.”
Thank you again for your generosity and support — it has genuinely had a positive impact on David.

I am writing to share some heartening news regarding the smartphone provided by SimPal. It has brought about tremendous positive changes in my clients’ lives, particularly for Ms. Davina Ehigia.
Davina, who manages bipolar disorder, depression, and anxiety, has benefited immensely from having this device. It has allowed her to stay in regular contact with her brother, Wayne, and her sister, Debby. This consistent communication with her family has proven to be a vital support system for her mental health and overall well-being.
Adult Lead Worker, Trident Group
I would like to inform you that we received the phone, and I have passed this onto my resident. She was very grateful for this, and it will make a big impact on her life as she will not be able to contact her children. Especially over the festive period.
Thank you again for all you have done
Justina, Islington Council
I would like to let you know that I have received the mobile phone and SIM card, and today I handed both over to the patient. He was extremely happy to receive them, and it has also been a great relief for us, as we now have a reliable contact number to stay in touch with him and keep up to date with his clinical needs.
I truly cannot thank you enough for your support and assistance in arranging the mobile phone and helping to resolve what was a very challenging situation. Your help has made a significant difference.
Thank you once again for your kindness and support.

Thank you so much for the outstanding support you continue to provide to our customers. Your dedication and commitment make a real difference, especially to those who are most vulnerable, and it is greatly appreciated.
I would also like to take this opportunity to wish you and all your colleagues a very happy and festive season. Wishing you peace, joy, and success in the year ahead.

I received the phone and sim card yesterday and I am extremely grateful. I Got it all set up in no time at all and was so happy as I was able to have the video call with my three children that was well over due. Christmas sure has came early for me .
SimPal have been amazing for me. They have helped me in the best way possible. Not only were they able provide me with a free SIM card and a smart handset They have made it possible to speak to my children which is amazing as I have not had contact with them in a while.
SimPal have been very understanding and accommodated my needs by going at that extra mile Which has helped my mental health massively.
Kelly
Dear Chris,
We are so grateful for the laptop you have sent us. It’s going to help greatly for me in being able to attend Microsoft Teams meetings and courses, as well as making/amending various officialdom-type things. I’m mostly housebound so it’s an invaluable conduit to the outside world.
Oh, and emails are so much easier to deal with too on a screen you aren’t squinting at!
For my daughter, who is autistic, it’s perfect for college assignments and research.
The last assignment she did was the old fashioned way, putting pen to paper (which isn’t a bad thing).
That is, until you get caught in a torrential downpour and your rucksack isn’t waterproof….needless to say it got ruined and she got very upset.
Now, she can type and submit her assignments electronically. (She doesn’t know it yet but I’m getting her a new fully waterproof rucksack with a protective compartment for the laptop for Christmas).
You have made this all possible for us.
We are so very grateful and both offer our heartfelt thanks to you.
Clare and Katie.
Please accept my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for donating a smart phone to me.
I was really struggling with my 3rd hand iPhone that was becoming increasingly unreliable and had a very broken screen (though I’d used it for over 10years!).
It’s a real game changer for me. I have a bigger, (and unbroken) screen and can go online and deal with emails so much more easily.
I am largely housebound and live with an autistic daughter which is challenging and at times lonely. The phone is my only connection to the outside world.
Thank you again for making a real difference in improving my life.
Clare, London.
Edward attended his appointment, and I wanted to take a moment to thank you for providing the phone, SIM, and data package.
The customer was absolutely delighted to receive these and expressed how much of a difference it will make in his daily life.
Having access to a reliable phone and data is a huge step toward staying connected and accessing essential services, and your generosity has truly made a positive impact.
We are very grateful for your continued support and the work you do to help those in need. Once again Chris and team, many thanks for your assistance with our vulnerable customers.
Prison Work Coach, Kilmarnock
Just wanted to thank you again for sending the phone for the young person I’m supporting in the refuge. It has meant that she has a device to aid her safety when she starts school. The family are fleeing abuse/honour based violence and are very high risk. The device will allow the young person to have contact with her Mum and the police if she needs to contact them. Thank you very much for your support.
Children’s Support Worker, IDAS
I am so pleased to inform you that I have received the phone intended for Davina. Thank you so much for making this possible.
Davina was absolutely delighted with it. I truly wish you could have seen the joy and excitement on her face while she was unboxing the phone; she was thrilled. This was so heart-warming. This is the first time she has ever had a phone of her very own. This device is going to bring significant and positive changes to her life.
It will enable her to manage her Universal Credit account more easily. As you know, she suffers from arthritis in her right leg, which makes the arduous journey to the Birmingham city centre post office to pay her council taxes incredibly difficult. We can now show her how to do her grocery shopping online, manage her Universal Credit journals, and pay her council taxes online from the comfort of her home.
She will also be able to book her GP appointments and sessions with the Mental Health Team digitally, which removes another significant barrier for her. She is also incredibly excited that she can keep in touch with her younger brother whenever she wishes.
Thank you again, Chris. You and your team are truly addressing a very critical area of need, and this gift will make a genuine difference.

I really appreciate the help from your organization. It’s weird but each time I receive a phone/laptop for my clients it feels so personal, as if I have achieved something, and it makes my job worthwhile.

Thanks so much again for helping out our patient with the laptop! Below is some feedback from her:
“I have been in hospital for so long, it can be very boring here. Now that I have the laptop I can watch films from my home country. This makes me feel happier and I find it comforting.”
Macmillan Palliative Care, St Georges Hospital
Just wanted to share that I have passed on the laptop to my client and she was so grateful and wanted me to thank you. She feels so relieved that she can now do her Uni work from her home and not stay at Uni working, especially as the days get darker earlier! Thanks for all your help and patience.

I would like to extend my sincere thanks for arranging the delivery of the phone. The customer was absolutely delighted and deeply appreciative. This device will be of great benefit to him—not only in managing his Universal Credit account and conducting job searches, but also in staying connected with his family.
I’d also like to thank your company for providing this valuable service. It makes a real difference to our vulnerable customers, and I hope to be in touch again in future to explore further support opportunities.

Thank you to the whole team at SimPal from us here at Street Storage – we requested a phone for someone who was sick and sleeping on the streets and within a few weeks we had not only the phone but a charger and a data SIM too! They are so responsive and are providing literal lifelines for people most in need.
Rachel, CEO Street Storage London
On the back of Kirsty being given the Sim this meant that she could contact me when she couldn’t afford to get her son to his last Social Prescribing appointment with me. I picked him up from home so he could still get to his volunteer placement and back.
He is enjoying his volunteering and dug out an area and planted Daffodils in a community garden. This activity is so important to him and enhances his Home Education. The work you do and the positive knock-on effect it has is absolutely amazing.
Children and young person link worker, Sunderland
Thanks again for the sim. I have an interview next week due to this data and wifi hot-spot. I will be sure to send a donation your way once hired. A homeless person on the streets now has a sim card from your service. I met him at the library. Thanks a billion!!
Michael, London
My client, will be immensely benefited by this. The phone will ensure his digital inclusion, allowing him to independently manage his utilities, benefits, and council tax payments, as well as accessing entertainment and social connections. It’s a true lifeline for him, and your support makes a profound difference.
I wish you and everyone at SimPal continued success with your incredible work. It is an amazing charity, and I’m very grateful for your generosity.
Trident Group, Birmingham
Just dropping you a quick email to say thank you for your prompt and efficient service.
The phone arrived on Monday and it was very easy to set up with the Vodafone SIM card.
I have been able to give it to the intended recipient who I have been working with in my role as Mental Health Housing First Worker for some time now. He has experienced a lot of trauma and disadvantage in his life and most recently has undergone cataract surgery which was life changing for him as it meant his eyesight has improved to the extent that he is able to resume his pastime of being a very talented portrait artist, which he had not been able to participate in for some time due to his failing eyesight.
Previously, his eyesight also prevented him from being able to see the display on his mobile phone, but he is now looking forward to using his new SimPal phone to phone his mum and daughters and take pictures of things he comes across which inspire his artwork. It will also help his workers, such as myself to keep in touch with him and to make sure he doesn’t miss any appointments.

I’ve got the phone that you’ve sent me. Made my life so much easier.
Can’t say enough thanks. Much love for your work. I’ve also recommended your services to a charity called the St Vincent’s passage which I was using for showers and food. Hope your service helps more people in need. I’ll definitely look after this.
Dennis, London
Thank you so much
You have no idea how much you have helped me out
Its taken so much pressure away knowing I can video call and play online with my son and not have to decide what not to pay

I just wanted to put in writing how vital the support of Sim Pal has been to my clients. As a Floating support Officer with Woking B/C I work with the most vulnerable members of the community. My role is to help people sustain their tenancies and to prevent homelessness. My clients are all on long term benefits due to extreme health issues including extreme mental health and with the DWP transferring everybody across to Universal Credit digital exclusion is a real barrier. My clients are unable to afford a phone and this in turn prevents them from applying for the benefits that they need. SimPal being able to provide free Smart mobiles has enabled me to assist them with this transfer and enabled them to keep the benefits they are entitled to.
SimPal’s support has prevented people from losing income and their homes. The restrictions on Local authority funding and charities across the country receiving less support Sim Pal has become the only place that is providing this vital lifeline as a regular resource.
I want to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU on behalf of my clients for this unique and vital support.
Woking Borough Council
I want to extend sincere gratitude to SimPal Charity for their generous support in providing mobile phones for several of our customers here at Homegroup, many of whom face significant social and financial disadvantages.
SimPal’s support has a profound impact – offering not just a vital means of communication, but also a renewed sense of independence and connection to essential services. For our customers navigating housing instability, complex social histories, or social isolation, having a smart phone can be life-changing.
Thanks to your support, our customers are now better able to access healthcare, stay in touch with family and support workers, increase their personal safety, manage their finances independently, as well as access vital support from our partner agencies to aid their recovery.
I think what you are doing is so important, especially in a world where digital poverty remains a hidden and often overlooked barrier for many people who are already facing significant challenges. Your compassion and commitment to digital inclusion is truly making a difference! On behalf of myself and all the individuals you have helped here at Homegroup, thank you for your incredible generosity.
Support Coordinator, Home Group
Thank you so much for sending a phone to the GP surgery I work in for the patient I am supporting.
She has now got the phone and is now able to speak to services for the first time in many months. She feels much less isolated and able to communicate with her social network as well. She is very grateful for the phone.
Thank you so much!
Wellbeing Practitioner, Clissold Park, London
I applied to SimPal for a phone and sim card for a young person I am working with. The family are in great financial strain, and would not have been able to make money stretch to be able to purchase a phone. This young person was really socially isolated, and was about to start college. During my involvement, there has been a number of things that he has required a phone for including enrolment at college, a bus pass and a local authority gym pass iniative. Therefore, the impact for this young man has been huge. He was both socially and digitally excluded before we got help from SimPal, and he was so grateful to get one.
Young People’s Caseworker, Halton Borough Council
I would like to thank you and your sponsors for sending me a smart phone and credit for 6 months. It means so much to me being able to open opportunities and keep in touch with the outside world. Once again, many many thanks,
Martin, Cardiff
I would also like to share how grateful the lady who you helped me out with a phone for earlier in the year. She was going for an extremely difficult time with anti-social behaviour with her neighbours, with your help with a mobile phone I was able to arrange for her to have a ring door bell which linked to the phone. It meant she had better control of who was coming to her front door. It also meant she could keep in contact with her mum who was struggling with poor health.
You are doing great work!

SimPal a great charity, Chris is really personable and committed to helping digitally excluded clients. Was very quick to send out a phone for one of my clients and then replace it when there was an issue.

Thank you so much. I have contacted the service user, and she is very grateful.
Once the phone has been delivered, I will let you know.
Once again, thank you for all that you are doing to support these vulnerable clients. Your dedication is truly appreciated.

The phone and sim card have both been received and I was able to give it to my client yesterday. He was so grateful and has already got himself set up with an appointment with the job centre so is already able to move forwards with trying to sort some banking and universal credit and hopefully we’ll be able to get him into some more secure housing soon too, thanks to the help you’ve provided.
Thank you again for everything you do, it really does open doors for people that need that assistance and are stuck unable to move forwards without it.
Change Grow Live, Northampton
I would just like to thank everyone at SimPal who awarded me with a mobile phone and a 6-month prepaid SIM card when I really needed it most. I truly appreciate all their help, as this has made it possible for me to stay connected and in touch with the medical professionals involved in my care and treatment for various health problems.
Due to their kind gift, I have also been able to stay in touch with health professionals and dentists who are involved in my four kids’ care. Since having the mobile phone and SIM card, it has been an important lifeline for us as a family and has resulted in a positive outcome. My kids haven’t missed a health appointment since.
I am so overwhelmed by the kindness of everyone involved. You so generously awarded me with not only a phone and SIM card, but you gifted me the invaluable opportunity of being able to stay connected to my important support network of family and health professionals while I’m going through a new 5-year treatment for a serious health problem.
My kids have also been able to connect to the mobile hotspot and use the internet to do their schoolwork. They no longer have to be embarrassed by going to school and explaining to their teacher that they couldn’t complete their homework because they didn’t have internet access. This happened because I had to decide not to pay the internet bill so I could buy my son a new pair of shoes since he had outgrown his only pair.

SimPal truly offers a one-of-a-kind service that deserves so much more recognition! In just half an hour, I was able to secure a smartphone for one of my vulnerable clients, and we couldn’t be happier. This support has made a real difference, helping my client regain independence after a challenging period. A special thanks to Chris, who handled the referral with such kindness and care — it really made the experience smooth and positive.
Thank you, SimPal, for the incredible work you do!

Thankyou so much for all of you help and for the chat yesterday!
I spoke to Ashley this morning and he is extremely grateful- it will make things so much easier for him and he can now manage his UC account. Massive thank you from both of us to Chris and the rest of the team for all that you do!

I just want to say a massive thank you for Evie’s gift of the mobile phone. Evie, over the course of her treatment has used her phone so much, to not only keep in touch with friends, but also keep her occupied in hospital. Unfortunately because of the usage, Evie’s phone gave up and Chris at SimPal came to the rescue, and saved the day. Thank you so much for all you do, you are an absolute legend.

A few weeks ago I contacted Chris, to request a mobile phone for one of my clients. This was an urgent case, because of the negative impact not having a mobile phone was having on my client. Prior to this I had contacted a number of other charities, but got nowhere. I got disheartened and was at the point of giving up, when a colleague suggest I contact SimPal charity. I put the case forward as to the reason I was requesting a phone, and how desperate the situation was. I did not have long to wait, and received a response the next day. I was surprised at this, and at first thought it was a scam. However, true to their word a mobile phone was sent to my office a few days later. The client has the phone now . It is making life easer for her and I can keep in touch with her.
I want to applaud your charity for the good work you are doing. It is not until you see and understand the impact on the individual of not having access to one of life’s necessities, that you are able to put value onto a simple item as a mobile phone. The mobile phone is more than a tool to communicate, I would suggest it is also a lifeline that connects you and gives you a sense of belonging.
East London NHS Foundation Trust
Thank you so much for sending the phone so promptly. The guest who received the phone had not been in touch with his family for 6 months. He had an ailing family member which he had not been able to receive news on that made getting a phone a bit of an emotional experience for him.
Simon Community, London
Some time ago I contacted you after hearing in an interaction with a terminally ill patient and her Husband about conduct from a mobile phone provider which I felt was unfair. C mentioned when talking about how she was feeling about the change in her pathway to palliative that the bills she was all of a sudden receiving were keeping her up at night and when she called them, the people were not listening or prepared to help her.
I gained consent from C to contact you to discuss what was happening and then also her Son who was trying to sort the issues. C and her Husband L told me that they had already paid money that they did not have. They both became emotional when telling me about the strain it was putting them under and C said she was thinking of using money that was put aside for preparations made for after her death.
A week or so later in an interaction with them and their Son I was told how you had been able to advise them and make sure that they felt confident challenging the company so that the issue could be resolved. That they now did not owe the large sums of money and that C did not have the worry any more or have contact with the provider. I was also told that you had organised a sim for her so that she could keep in touch with her family whilst she was an inpatient, and with her clinical team once discharged home.
Last week I had a very emotive interaction with L, C’s Husband who visited after her funeral to show us the order of service and give us a thank you card. He said that they were so grateful that in a really difficult time we were able to help and make things so much better for them.
I was just so glad that I had overheard the conversation with my advisor and was able to step in and ask them if I could contact you. The impact of your skills and support items really was far reaching.

I really cannot thank Chris and the team at SimPal enough for the support you provide. I approached the service for help obtaining a handset for a homeless client. This client was engaging with all the support available, but the lack of access to a handset meant they were forced to walk miles throughout the day to speak to different organisations. It really demonstrates how important your work is in tackling digital exclusion. Thank you!
I have seen the client since, and their situation and wellbeing has increased noticably.
Emily, Citizens Advice Gosport
Thank you for such dynamic service in reviewing and processing the request for a mobile phone and SIM.
Both my client and I are thankful for the service you provide and wish every success going forward.

My resident had unfortunately suffered a medical incident and during this time his phone was stolen. I contacted SimPal via a very simple easy to assess referral form , within 24 hours I received a response from Chris , who could not have been more helpful and kinder. A phone was received within the week. My resident can now make his GP appointments , pay his bills, and keep in contact with his family again ! Thank you so much Chris , you really are changing peoples lives.

Thank you so much for your support. I have informed my client and he is so grateful and happy that their is a support like SimPal to help. This will help our client in more ways than you can imagine, as he is going through quite a hard time in his life, and just having a phone from yourselves will give him access to the support he needs.

Chris & the team provide such a fantastic & invaluable service. Your charity is empowering people all over. A huge thank you for what you do.

I am a social worker working in adult social care. I was working with a service user who was in a very unsafe situation and needed some social care input, mental health support and support to move house. Unfortunately he had no phone, which made it hard for him to call for help when needed or for professionals to get in touch with him. SimPal helped us with a phone and sim card for the gentleman and it has made such a difference to him. He is now receiving the right support and has moved to a property where he will now be safe. The phone is allowing us to stay in regular contact with him and he is starting to make contact with estranged family using it so is less isolated. Thanks so much for the phone and data it has made a big difference.

My client came from being street homeless with nothing to now being able to access employment fulltime from using SimPal, receiving a mobile phone has empowered them to start looking for jobs and volunteering and has made a huge positive impact to his life.

Hi Chris, the phone has been received and set up no problem. Ben was so grateful, he has now been able to secure permanent accommodation which is fantastic.
We will almost certainly be in touch again. What a fantastic organisation you have.

Thank you for your prompt response and the valuable information regarding the Vodafone social package. We will certainly arrange for its setup after the initial five-month period.
We are pleased to confirm that the phone and SIM card arrived yesterday. We have already assisted our first resident in setting up the device, and they express immense gratitude, noting that they now feel safe and connected.
We completely agree with your sentiment about addressing current issues without delay; it’s a philosophy we also strive to uphold in our work. We’re also very much looking forward to building a strong and lasting relationship with SimPal.

Hi Chris,
It was an honour speaking with you today. Thank you for helping people like me.
I can’t thank you enough for all your help Chris. Thank you for the laptop. It will make a huge difference to us. The whole process was very quick and easy. What a brilliant charity. I’m so grateful. What you and your team do is truly amazing.

That’s amazing. Thank you so much. I Really appreciate your help and I know that this will help my client Robert so much going forward. I will pass your details on to him and hopefully he will get in touch with you if he feels further support is needed, now or in the future.
Kelly, Citizens Advice
I wanted to let you know that the Sim Card has arrived! – (early, too!)
I’ve gone ahead and activated it, following your instructions and using the voucher provided. Everything’s working great so far.
Some of my accounts (like Universal Credit, Outlook, etc.) send login codes via text to my old number, so I’ll now try and start updating those accounts with the new number you kindly provided.
It goes without saying how massively appreciative I am for you arranging this. Thanks to your generosity and kindness, I no longer have to worry about being cut off. I can be contacted by phone or text for the foreseeable future, and I can use data to access important things like email – which, in my current financial situation, is honestly a huge relief. It truly means a lot to me and takes a massive weight off my shoulders.
Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart.

The phone and SIM arrived on Saturday. I’m so grateful for helping me with this phone and SIM card. This really will make a huge difference to my life. It will make shopping so much easier as I can now order food on paydays and do big shops instead of trying to get by each day. So you really have made my life so much easier and I am so grateful. Thanks ever so much for doing this for me. I can’t thank you and your team enough.
Paul, Sutton Coldfield
Hi Chris and Team,
Once again, thank you so much for arranging the sim for me.
What you and your team are doing is truly invaluable, and I don’t take it for granted. I genuinely look forward to the day I can show my appreciation properly – once I’m back on my feet, hopefully in the not-too-distant future.
I found your website and your personal story incredibly inspiring, so I really appreciate you sharing that. You’ve done such meaningful work over the years, and I just want to be one of the hopefully many voices saying how much that matters. People like you – and your amazing volunteers – give hope to people like me and remind us to keep going.
I will get in contact to share my appreciation again, via a call once the Sim-card arrives through the post. For now – I genuinely wish you continued good health and all the best in everything you do.
Arran, Birmingham
I just wanted to update you – Steven has now re engaged and I have passed the phone over today and topped up etc. we both really appreciate your help with this (as does the GP and our practice pharmacist!) and this really will make a big difference to him being able to access healthcare.
Community Links Practitioner, Glasgow
I am so grateful for what you have done for me. My life went from being a perfectly healthy and active person to what I am now within the space of 18 months. On my bad days I struggle to even make it to the bathroom without having oxygen. Walking even short distances is a nightmare. Struggling for air is a strange feeling. I start breathing as hard as I can but my body just isn’t getting the oxygen out of the air I’m breathing in.
So the phone and SIM card will totally change my life as I’ll be able to do shopping online and as everything is done via email or using a websites to book doctors apt for example is done online then this will make life a whole lot easier.
I didn’t know I could get help like this and as far as I could find your the only person actually offering help of this type. I’m guessing many people try taking advantage of your kindness and your charities kindness but for people like myself who are actually genuinely struggling then your help makes a huge difference.
So I can’t thank you and your charity enough. What an amazing charity you have created. I am so grateful.
Paul, Birmingham
I want to express my heartfelt thanks to Mr. Chris Lewis and his incredible charity, SimPal. They kindly provided me with a phone and SIM card for 12 months, and I can’t explain how much this means to me. I was in real need of help, and they responded so quickly and generously.
Chris, your support came at the perfect time, and it’s made a huge difference in my life. Thank you so much for your kindness, your compassion, and everything you do for people like me.
Firas, Plymouth
I can’t thank you enough for all the support your organisation has provided on the three occasions that I have contacted you within the last few months.
The first occasion was where a client was not receiving any funds at all and he needed a phone to facilitate contacting the DWP etc. All this has now been resolved and he is now receiving his correct benefit entitlement.
The second occasion was where the phone was given to a homeless man who was living in a tent in a park and again the phone was required to contact the DWP.
Today, my request has been for a client who has £230 a month to live off after his rent has been paid from his Universal Credit and will not receive any more money until the 1st of July. He is suffering from mental health issues after his father passing away recently and this phone is required to enable him to claim PIP.
Your organisation is amazing, and the help and peace of mind that having a free phone provided to the clients I have mentioned has proven to be invaluable, and assists them in getting their lives back on track.
Deb, Citizens Advice Torfaen
Just wanted to let you know that I’ve received your phone donation and will pass it on to the recipient! Your initiative is truly amazing, and unique. I am also very impressed with how quick you’ve worked on this request- it will make such a great difference in the life of this family.

Can I just say how helpful and important your service has been to allow us to be able to offer a phone to individuals we are working with.
You have been able to support patients to be able to have a lifeline that they can make contact with services if they are unwell or for services to be able to get hold of them, which is important.
Your help has made a difference to vulnerable people in our community.
Thank you again

I wish you could see how grateful this lady was! I cannot explain what joy this gift has brought to her face. She was shaking when I handed it to her and was whispering “Thank you! Thank you! You have no idea what difference this will make for me”…
Thank you and your team for this positive experience. This has totally made my day!

Being digitally connected is essential for anybody to function in the modern world. Simpal is a fantastic service which allows people who need it most to reconnect with the online world. This organisation does fantastic work and they could not make it easier to access and communicate with the service. Nobody does it like Chris!

I’m writing this to show my gratitude and appreciation for the help and kind conversation with you that I have to say thank you so much and God bless you and your colleagues for doing such a great job and service of help that you provide for people in need of help like myself.
I have received the mobile phone that you sent me and I can’t thank you enough…
Dler.
I’d like to thank you and your organisation for the phones you have provided to a number of clients being supported by St Mungo’s. I’m not sure if you realise the tangible difference a phone makes to a person who have faced so many challenges but from just the handful of clients I have spoken to they have reconnected with friends and family, been able to call for help when in danger, logged into UC account to fulfil jobcentre responsibilities and avoid sanctioning, making a doctor’s appointment. It sounds so small when put into words but as you’ll know it makes the world of difference.
Rebecca, St Mungo’s
You’ve helped so many of the young people I support, and I truly admire the work you’re doing. You’ve made it possible for them to stay in touch with their families, friends, and with us—their support workers—which means the world to all of us.
As a small token of my appreciation, I’ve made a donation to your charity. I know it’s not much, but I hope it helps in some way. I’m just a support worker, but I’ll definitely keep your charity in mind when payday comes around!
Rad, Juventas Services
Thank you so much again for all of your help, your charity is amazing and being a young person unable to buy a phone, you’ve taken so much stress off my back.

Thanks Chris, this means a lot to me.
It was a pleasure speaking with you yesterday and I’m grateful that you allowed me the time to share my circumstances with you.
I felt better for our chat and I really appreciate you providing me with a handset and SIM. It will make a huge difference and help me move forward.
Michael, Rotherham
KL received a mobile around a month ago from Simpal with the sim.
Prior to this it had been 18 months since they last had a mobile phone.
They have been able to contact support workers rather than having to call from pharmacies + Salvation army.
Their attendance of medical and support working appointments has greatly improved.

The phone arrived yesterday and I have set it up with one of the sim cards from the data bank! All is working fine and I gave it to the client today who was over the moon.
Thank you again so much! You have no idea the impact an organisation like yours has on so many individuals, as well as helping out projects like ours
Ali, Eastbourne Council
Just a quick note to thank you and the team at Your SimPal for the help you’ve given our clients. Access to a handset and to a SIM with a good level of communications and data availability has been transformational, and has enabled the recipients to manage their Universal Credit much more effectively.

Receiving this phone is a massive help to me because it means the hospital can keep in touch with me and my kids. We have numerous health issues. It will help us to keen in touch with the rest of the family when we are in hospital. The free Data will be a massive help too, I can keep up to date with my emails and whats app messages when I am out of the house. Big thanks, very much appreciated!

Chris at SimPal helped me to obtain a phone and laptop to help me get back to work after losing my job a few months ago. The support he offered was invaluable, there is a saying that we are all a few months away from disaster if we lose our jobs and I can testify that this is indeed true. You can not even interview for most jobs now days without a phone and laptop for video calls. Without the support of SimPal, I would not have been able to get back into the interview process in order to get back to work. I can’t thank this charity enough, they make you feel so at ease when you chat to them. An absolutely brilliant charity run by an absolutely brilliant guy. Thanks

I just wanted to say that angels really do exist. Thank you for you help to sort out a new phone and sim card. I wish I can meet you one day. Your service was absolutely amazing!

Working with Chris has been a wonderfully easy process, from filling out the online referral form to having conversations around the type of support required. At each point Chris and his team have been welcoming, understanding but most of all empathetic to my clients.
As a professional working with vulnerable adults and young people it’s important to me my clients have the best support possible to access everything they need. Chris will listen to each individual situation and then offer his support.
Two of my clients have benefited from a new phone and a 12/24 month free SIM card. This has increased their independence and their safety which has been fantastic.
I can’t recommend Chris and his team enough.

I just wanted to extend my heartfelt thanks to you for providing me with a free WiFi dongle while I care for my son in hospital. I couldn’t believe how easy it was to set up after your useful instructions.
This small but powerful device has made a big difference—it’s keeping me connected so I can continue my work remotely, and more importantly, it’s allowing my son to stay entertained and distracted during his long chemotherapy sessions. In such a difficult time, your kindness and practical support mean more than words can express. Speaking with you on the phone is so reassuring as you have such a warm and caring approach. I sincerely hope that more people and organisations are encouraged to support the vital work you do. You are truly making a difference in the lives of families like ours.

I am absolutely amazed by the SimPal charity and the incredible service they provide for those in need! When I reached out to SimPal to request support for my patients, who would greatly benefit from having a phone and calling service to stay connected with their support team after being discharged from the hospital, I received a prompt response from Chris. He is truly a gem and the founder of this wonderful charity. Speaking with him on the phone, his passion and expertise were evident, and he explained the support offer clearly. Plus, his sense of humour is a solid 10/10! 😊 Thank you once again for everything you do.

Feedback from one of our regular guests, who currently uses our Foodbank and wasn’t able to afford a new mobile phone after he had smashed his screen, has been brilliant. Your charity has been a pleasure to work with. I contacted you and within 2 days a person who very much needed it has received a mobile phone and data. The extremely simple application form and no need to jump through hoops/ share patient details with you made the process so easy for me as a professional.
This gift from you will literally save her life.
This person will now be able to communicate with the hospital, and the hospital with her for her ongoing health needs and be able to notify the hospital of any changes to her health. It will allow her to digitally manage her benefit claims and contact other agencies in her community who are able to offer her support. With the hope of supporting her to access all available benefits. It will allow her ability to keep her mind busy by watching movies/ playing games during her thrice weekly 4 hour hospital visits. It will allow her to keep connected with her loved ones.
Thank you so much for your support.

Thank you, Simpal, you are wonderful! How such a small gesture of providing free internet access can make the biggest impact on somebody’s life and their ability to function. Imagine a life without your phone or internet connection; the struggle to access health appointment information, education, and pay bills. Simpal is a no-fuss charity run by good-hearted people who want to help people quickly get back in touch with the modern world. I can’t be grateful enough for their help in supporting me in my work…Simpally the best! (see what I did there) .

The greatest benefit from my phone was my ability to text when I was taken into hospital for three weeks. This enabled me to keep in contact with my family. I would have been really isolated without being able to text. The phone enables me to check up various contacts more easily and also the map app is very useful. I’m kept more up to date especially from my two sons – they WhatsApp me now instead of having to call. I use the Lidl app to see what’s available each week – this can only be done on a smartphone. I have a son in supported living at Thornage Hall and they use Facebook to show their trips and what they are doing and I now keep up to date with what they are doing too and see photos. I couldn’t do this before.
Thank you so much for taking time to speak with me.
Thank you for being so kind
Thank you for what you do helping vulnerable people
Thank you for helping me
Your company and your support has given me much encouragement in a discouraging time. what you are doing, the amazing support you are giving make such a difference in someone’s life, I thank you very much.
When K received the smartphone, his face lit up with excitement. After setting it up and guiding him through how to use it, he quickly grasped the basics and was eager to start exploring. K was keen to download gardening and Pokémon apps to support his interests. He expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thank you for this, I’m really excited to play with it.”
Overall, K felt a newfound sense of independence and relief, knowing he could easily reach out for help and stay connected with his community. We are also glad to be able to contact K independently, which will help grow his confidence with us and develop his independent voice. This will make him more confident in advocating for himself, and in turn, we will be better able to advocate for him.

I would like to thank your service / charity for the help and support you have offered to a family in significant need.
From referral to first contact to confirming the action of a phone and sim to be sent out has been so proactive, and fast, I am very thankful. This action will help enable a family to be connected to those around them, family and needed services from GP, to support agencies and will help minimise further risks.

“When I received a mobile phone from Newham Nurture and they told me it was from Chris from SIMPAL. As a person I was really surprised because a few days before that, I lost my phone and I did not have money at all to buy a mobile phone. It was really unexpected that they would offer me a phone, at a time when I was really broken financially”
I really appreciate and thank you for helping me!!
Newham Nurture Programme
Our Client (CT) received her phone today. She “wishes to express her thanks to SimPal”.
Simpal’s help was much appreciated.
Thanks for all you do!

God bless you for your instant response. It’s truly a good charity for homeless people like us. Not like a few other organizations, to do show-off as charity to get funding from public and government.
Please would you be able to send more sim cards and phones if available please – we are resettling at pace in Cornwall, I had the joy of welcoming a family into their new home just last week and the difference to the family who arrived without a useable simcard was huge – to be able to contact family still in camps abroad and set up their lives from day one is huge – we cannot access benefits and support without that level of connectivity,
Thanks for enabling this its huge!
Hi Chris. Just wanted to send a message to say thank you once again, having the phone means I can keep in touch with my family and keep them updated.
This has been the roughest time in our lives and with your kindness youve helped so much, i will never be able to thank you enough.
Client B has been given a smart phone as she only had a very basic one previously. She uses it to watch her favourite videos in her free time, as well as to access Home Move – an account through which she can start bidding for her own council property. Client B can also easily access her bank account through an app and manage her daily life better using the smart phone as she doesn’t have a laptop or computer. Client B is in an on-and-off relationship with her partner and there are concerns around domestic abuse. The smart phone has given her more independence as she had been previously using her partner’s smartphone to access the internet.
Client A has been known to rough sleeper services in Brighton for over 5 years. Over that time, he has had limited and unclear entitlements to public funds due to his immigration status. This has left him digitally excluded without the finances to afford a smartphone, tablet or laptop for example. Through support via Simpal, the Street Outreach Service were able to provide Client A with a smartphone which he was delighted with. He was excited to use the phone to listen to his favourite music (Bob Marley) and to use social media to reconnect with his family abroad. He is receiving ongoing support to regularise his immigration status in the UK.
I received the phone and sim this morning, and all set up, my son organised it for me, honestly can’t thank you enough.
Just wanted to say an amazing service as nothing like this exists,. The person I am supporting is over the moon, she will now be able to keep in touch with friends and family back home and help her improve her wellbeing and mental health. She feels so isolated and this will make such a difference so thanks . Chris made the process so easy and with kindness and not having people jump through hoops for help.
NHS Glasgow
Good news…….the mobile phones and sim cards have arrived!!!
We are absolutely delighted to be able to continue to keep connected to our school community. This will make such a difference to the provision we offer to our children and families.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support. It means so much.
A primary school in Northern Ireland
I want to thank you for sending me the mobile phone, it works great
Thanks again for your support in this difficult time and your efforts with us
SimPal is a much-needed unique service. We deal with many people in crisis and often having a mobile phone is the only way they can access many of the support services they need to improve their situation. We have struggled in the past to help our clients who have no access to handsets as having searched far and wide SimPal is the only provider we have found to offer this as well as sim cards. We really appreciate having found Chris and have already been able to help our most vulnerable clients. Thank you.

Thank you so much for the phone and SIM. It is amazing. I can see a screen again and now log in to Rees online to do some courses.
From the very bottom of my heart, thank you. This really will make such a difference and I cannot thank you enough. Your charity is another amazing example of human kindness and is a really worthy cause.
I just wanted to thank you sincerely once again for arranging a free phone with WiFi for sixth months via SimPal.
This has been a ‘ life changer’ or ‘ life saver’ for me, and has helped me to get my life back on track.
Thanks to the WiFi, I am now able to study from home; a course organised through my work coach; which helps me re-skill in IT.
For a homeless client, having a mobile phone through SIMPAL can be life-changing. It offers a vital connection to essential services, support networks, and potential employment opportunities. With a mobile phone, the client can stay in touch with social services, access emergency help, maintain contact with family and friends, and manage appointments, all of which are crucial steps toward stability and reintegration into society. SIMPAL’s support helps reduce the digital divide and empowers the client to take control of their circumstances.
It was lovely to speak to you this morning and I appreciate the time you took out of your day to speak to me regarding the digital poverty in our school and community.
I have shared the information with our Board of Governors and we are delighted that you are able to help and support us in keeping the families and children within our community connected . (Northern Ireland)
I wanted to thank you for posting the phone out to me.
It arrived safely yesterday, I’m hoping to get it out to the client today.
I know what this will mean to my client and how much it will improve her current situation and safety.
I received my phone on Tuesday! Thank you so much for this! My heart lit up, because it put to rest the anxieties I had by not having one!
Both the phones you have provided have now been passed to our tenants. Both Iveta and Jason are delighted with their phones, and very grateful.
Your help to us has a great impact on our psyche, especially with the high standard of living and daily requirements, and it would be difficult to provide it without your help.
Thank you again for your support,
Many thanks for your time over the telephone yesterday, rendering a helping hand in support and generous kind gesture towards myself and son.
It’s a huge relief for us as I look forward to receiving the package…you’ve filled in a vacuum and met us at our very point of need! God bless you. Simpal charity is a unique charity and your website is a great inspiration…please keep up the good work.
Despite making referrals into statutory agencies our resident struggled to communicate with them as she had a very old phone and due to the sensory impairments they were unable to use the current phone therefore missing engagement to offer support.
Having the access to a more suitable mobile phone has enabled our resident to –
communicate with charity supplying white goods to arrange delivery following initial referral
engage with alcohol dependant support services
communicate with benefits and PIP by phone
access bereavement counselling
access to occupational therapy
The benefits that that this will bring to our resident are immeasurable, not only are we able to offer our resident support with aids and adaptions to the property to support mobility issues we were also able to put our resident in touch with the support that they needed and access benefits that they are entitled to. Your generous donation has given our resident access to the lifelines they so desperately needed – thank you
Our patient is a recent laryngectomy who is unable to use a speaking valve. They have banked their voice, but currently use an old mobile phone which is not compatible with text to speech apps, and don’t currently have finance available to purchase a new model.
They are particularly keen to use the app to call family members, and this simultaneous app operation can usually only be done with iOS devices, so this is something they are really keen to try and source. If there’s anything the charity can do to support, we’d be very grateful.
Thank-you so much for the phone you sent for my client along with the sim card. He was so happy.
It’s a wonderful thing you do, so thanks again for your kindness
Hello Chris, just wanted to say a massive thank you to you and your team for providing me with a SIM card and data. These last few months have been very challenging with hospital stays and you guys have definitely taken the pressure off from me, so any future appointments we now have I won’t need to worry about the Wi-Fi in hospital as Robin can now enjoy his favourite series or play his games on my phone until we wait to get seen. It’s really appreciated and I will keep in touch, your journey was remarkable and the charity services you offer are priceless. Thank you again!
We are slowly welcoming more families into Cornwall, for some from the most dire circumstances with a journey thus far strewn with trauma, fear and loss. Today I would like you to know that the phone you sent has been given to a Mum of 3 children to help her start up her life here under our skies, to some just a phone, but to these families it is connection to the past, to loved ones and a start of their future also.
Thank you ever so much.
Thank you ever so much for our telephone conversation. It is an absolute pleasure to be dealing with yourself and such a brilliant charity.
“Pleasure speaking to you, just letting you know what a wonderful job you are doing, it’s a brilliant charity. Thanks so much for all the information you’ve provided, most importantly the SIM card.”
I just wanted to send my sincerest thanks to you. Tanyas phone has turned up this morning. I have left a message in the pharmacy to get her to come in and get her phone. This is going to make so much difference to her. Very appreciated.
I wanted to let you know that the mobile phone and SIM arrived yesterday. Richard will uplift it on Thursday when we next have a meeting. However, when I told him about the phone coming, he was in tears with gratitude. Thank you again for proactively supporting people who need this type of help.
Chris, you’re a gent, and it’s refreshing to talk to someone who actually gets it. Until you experience no internet or phone, it’s hard to understand how difficult everything is.
A goon in the job centre looked at me like I was thick, when I said I didn’t have a phone and internet. Couldn’t I go to Argos and get a cheap £50 one and just top it up? That’s how out of touch they are. I was explaining why I didn’t answer the question they had posted on my online account. They wanted to sanction us for not logging on
When Katy got ill, we tried to carry on but just one wage wouldn’t cut it, so I sold all my watches, my Vespa, my Lambretta, and for a while we got by. But it doesn’t take long to fall behind, and it was hard to ask for help. A lot of friends went missing as well. You get to see people’s true colours Chris.
Taking time off to look after Katy has been hard, but great spending so much time together, after all those years working and bringing the family up.
We tried to keep it as normal as possible for Jakey, my son. He’s knows we are struggling though. He got some money at Christmas in cards. He put it on our dresser, and tried to say it wasn’t his.
I was still a bit lost with it all until today Chris, you have given us that lifeline, that I will never take for granted again. Katy and I have just sat down, with big grins on our faces.
I just wanted to say thank you for sending the sim cards last week. They have arrived in the office, and we are hoping to start giving them out this week! It’s so fun to see StandOut on your website. We had 4 participants visit the office in varying levels of crisis last week, and we gave them each sim cards, clothing and phones. It seems the number of participants in this situation is high at the moment, and we are so privileged to be able to support them.
There are so few organisations offering the kind of assistance that you provide, and you’ve already helped to support so many individuals across Lincolnshire who are affected by cancer.
I will be sharing the details of your charity with the Head of the Care Team, as I think it is important that as many people as possible know about what your charity offers.
I would like to thank you for the gift of a six-month sim card to Ms S. The ability to make calls and send text messages has made a significant impact on her life.
Ms S had been criticised by professional’s agencies for not maintaining contact by telephone or returning calls. One example of the impact this has had is Ms S was criticised for not phoning the school when her children were unwell and so the absences were recorded as ‘unauthorised’. Unauthorised absences impact on the statistical attendance and when this goes below a certain level the education department takes legal action. Ms S’s son has some medical issues and so his attendance became an issue despite the absences being due to illness. Since getting the sim card she has been able to call the school to report the absences and so he now has authorised absences. This means that she will avoid being fined within the courts and pushed further into poverty. Ms S has also a received praise from professionals because her communication has improved which they see as improved engagement.
Without the ability to make calls and listen to answer messages Ms S would still be struggling.
Hi there I would like to thank you for sending me a new iPhone 7 during this difficult time it will help me a lot because the phone I currently have is beyond repair it will now mean family and friends will be able to contact me always and be able to keep in touch during the festive period while I’m fighting my battle on a separate note I would like to Thank Chris for his relentless work and just being a kind and genuine person putting a smile on my face during this difficult time for me and giving me advice about what I’m going to go through I recommend anyone in need in this time if you need any help with any gadgets you should get in touch with simpal they are a great help Thanks again
Just to give some feedback on the smartbox and sim card you send. The young patient was thrilled and reported it making all the difference during the day. His emails and music wouldn’t work on hospital wifi which was also temperamental. He was so thankful for your help.
Thank you so much, the SIM cards will mean a great deal to the women who have been through so much so far. Some of the women we have visited at the detention centre are victims of trafficking and victims of torture, others have been detained because their paperwork has not been accepted by the Home Office. In some cases the women have lived in the U.K. for many years, one for 22 years and had 3 children born here in the U.K.
Hope you’re well,
Thank you so so much for your SIMPAL help,
You gave me relief for my mobile usage,
You are doing such a wonderful thing for the community,
Huge Respect,
The Sim Cards have arrived! Thank you so so much for your help with this project!
These Sim Cards are invaluable for our children and young people, in ensuring they have enough data to be able to use the latest tech to be able to manage their type 1 diabetes! I cannot thank you and your team at Your Sim Pal enough, for believing in our project, your wise words of advise and your support.
What a true inspiration you are when me and my family are going through such a terrible time you managed to bring smiles. 💙
Thank you for helping us!!
X will be chuffed to bits especially with Christmas 🎄 coming up. Moneys so tight with all the travel etc so he will be over the moon to have such a great treat to keep in touch with his pals.
We’d love to be part of the SimPal family, and keep working with you in the future.
It was good to talk to you and thanks for sending the 12 sim cards. I have given them out already and as we discussed, I have lots more people on the waiting list!
This is brilliant! Thank you so much for your help!
I just wanted to take a moment to thank you all for all the support shown to David! I visited him last week and he was like a new man, it was lovely to hear him talking so positively.
Thank you so much
Hi Chris, hope all is well. Me and Sarah would like to wish you and everyone involved with SimPal, a merry christmas and better new year. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and for the kindness and compassion the help ,and the time throughout this year to me.
We have a new Afghan family arriving from an oversee refugee camp on Tuesday 28th November. Please if you have availability, can we get one mobile phone with sim and a MyFi?
I am the service manager for a charity that supports homeless individuals to move away from the streets and into accommodation. This opportunity that you are providing will be of great help for the individuals that we support currently within the city of Cambridge.
Fantastic talking to you too this afternoon.
Little did I imagine when I saw your ad only last nite at Queens that help was only a matter of hours away. It was fascinating learning more about SimPal and many congratulations on setting up such a wonderful initiative.
This support will go a long way to help meet my communication needs and more besides.
I look forward to receiving the pack with profound gratitude.
I honestly cannot thank you enough, I’ve just been reading my way through your site and watching your videos and you are truly an inspiration to have come out so very strong is admirable and your voice is louder and much more digestible than any others I have come across In this cancer galaxy!
X is trying so hard yet the chemotherapies are so utterly draining and majorly beating against his little body.
One thing I’ve found since X got diagnosed is all the charities aren’t people…just forms and proofs and computers so I can’t tell you how lovely it was to have a “real life” compassionate human on the phone when all you need is a few kind words it makes the world of difference… so thank you.
Thanks so so much to everyone for your time and support and most of all your patience not just with myself but others that you help and care for. With out your care, a lot of us would not have anyone to turned to. So from everyone and myself a massive thanks to you all”
